A preview of 2013

Concerts
Guitar4mation will be back on stage in 2013.
Concerts in Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are on the schedule for this year. A season highlight will be our next visit to the International Guitar Festival of Mikulov in the Czech Republic in Juli 2013. There, Guitar4mation will not only appear in concert - the ensemble's musicians will also be giving guitar masterclasses.

Recording
We will continue to work on our next CD. Recording session are planned for April and June 2013, with arrangements by Schumann, Gismonti, Pascoal and Chick Corea on the list.

New programme for the 10th anniversary
This year, Guitar4mation's current line-up with Martin Wesely, Petr Saidl, Michal Nagy and Martin Schwarz will celebrate its 10th anniversary on stage together. For this occasion, we plan to surprise our audiences with new encores and a set of "classic" tangos including works by Juanjo Dominguez, Juan Carlos Cobian and Anselmo Aieta. Time to celebrate....

Guitar4mation works on new arrangements

Autumn is rehearsal time for Guitar4mation. At this moment, the group works on new arrangements that will be presented in 2013, which marks the tenth stage anniversary for the current line-up with Martin Wesely, Petr Saidl, Michal Nagy and Martin Schwarz.  Right now we are digging into the "classic" tango repertoire, which has never been featured in our porgrammes until now. We are captivated by this music's colours, emotions and its rhythmic energy.

Guitar4mation live on Radio OE1!

A live recording of Guitar4mation's concert at the Eggenberger Schlosskonzerte will be on the Radio OE1 programme on Sunday, 19th of August 2012 at 7.30p.m.

The concert programme features compositions by Schumann, Chopin, Rodrigo, Corea, Metheny, Gubitsch, Pascoal and Gismonti.

Exceptional reviews and a great response from the audience at the Eggenberger Schlosskonzerte 2012

In the wonderful Planet Hall of Schloss Eggenberg in Graz, Guitar4mation enjoyed a highly acclaimed concert. Three encores and a cheering audience - what more can you ask?

Piano literature "... for six strings" 
.... Astonishingly, the focus of "Guitar4mation's" virtuoso concert programme was the piano.
.... and so, the well known Preludes and the Waltz op.64 no.2 by Chopin were given a subtle new meaning. ...
' Evocación' by Martin Schwarz introduced the jazzy part of the concert with works by Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Tomás Gubitsch and others, which proved to be full of live and passion.

Cheers to Mr."Chobim“!
....Chopin's thoughtful poetry and the delicate melancholy of Rio de Janeiro in the sixties make for a perfect combination, which happens to work especially well in an arrangement for four guitars.
....'Chobim's' piece was the subtle highlight of an entertaining evening....
Egberto Gismonti's sensitive 'Fala da Paixao' and the Hermeto Pascoal's virtuosic 'São Jorge' had the audience cheering; and 'Guitar4mation' showed its true show talent in the encores: Ary Barroso's 'Aquarela do Brasil' was a real showpiece for four excellent musicians. In Domenico Modugno's 'Piove', they proved their sense of vocal humour and then ended the evening with a harmonious, lovely version of Bruce Springsteen's 'I'm on fire', which came as another surprise. Much cheering in the end.
